Air leakage accounts for about 1/3 of heat loss within the home. Air leaks through cracks or holes in the walls, ceilings, and floors, and around doors and windows.

Swapping out standard incandescent light bulbs for ENERGY STARŪ qualified compact fluorescents in your five most frequently used fixtures could trim as much as $60 off your yearly energy bill.

Buildings are the largest human source of greenhouse gas emissions.

Building energy consumption accounts for 37% of total US energy use and 68% of total US electricity.

FAQs

What's a blower door?
A blower door test uses a powerful fan that fits inside an exterior door. When we turn the fan on, it depressurizes the house so that air comes through any leaks. The blower door is a powerful tool because it allows us to both quantify air leakage and feel where air leaks occur.

What's BPI?
BPI stands for Building Performance Institue, which issues the standard certification for building performance professionals. All of our auditors have attained the building analyst certification, the gold standard in the field.
